2009 was a red-letter year for Marsh Rocket. We saw love, explosions, new graphic novels, and the much-anticipated end of the Briefcase Series. Additionally, I hit the road quite a bit harder than I have been in recent years, making appearances at Comic Con and Alternative Press Expo.

The first half the year is pretty much a blur. I remember something about introducing a couple new items to the store and pounding out copious pages to get to the end of the Briefcase saga, but no finer details beyond that. I celebrated with a wrap party complete with briefcase-shaped cake. Yay.

After the end of June, the web crowd didn't see or hear much from me because I took a much needed break from the website. I had been working on Marsh Rocket for three years straight (on top of my 40 hour job) and I was worn out. However, I did drop some breadcrumbs here and there about my travels and small goings on with the site, what podcasts I've done, etc. Really, things didn't pick up again until halfway through December when the Christmas is Carnage arc started. I'm glad the site's sudden resurrection was a pleasant surprise to many readers, even if the schedule during the last two weeks has been somewhat erratic. The CIC arc has forced me to produce a lot more pages a week than what I'm used to, but that's going to change once the arc ends, the week of January 11th. Yeah, I know doing a Christmas story well into January isn't the brightest idea in the world, but it's not just about Christmas, people. Christmas is Carnage is also about the carnage as well and that can be enjoyed year round.

So, thank you for your support this year, and thank you for your infinite patience. And I hope you'll stick around because after the Christmas special, there's more to come. And happy new year, everyone!
